Osteoarthritis
MMG recruited participants for a 7-week rescue mission conducted during summer months. The sponsor required 500 patients overall, with up to one-third of those patients from MMG efforts.
Results
- 133 patients (26.6 percent of total required participants) randomized in the final 8 weeks of the study due to MMG efforts, allowing study to close on time and on target
- 3,215 calls processed by the MMG Contact Center, resulting in 934 referrals to study sites and a call-to-randomization rate of 13.9 percent
- Print advertising – 2,511 calls, 770 referrals, and more than 120 randomizations for a call-to-randomization rate of 4.8 percent
- Average cost per call was reduced 25 percent from first flight to last
- Database outreach – 657 phone screens, 184 referrals, and more than 13 randomizations, with a call-to-randomization rate of 2 percent
